National Track Cycling Championship: The second day of the 78th Senior, 55th Junior and 41st Sub-Junior National Track Cycling Championship 2026 witnessed impressive performances from cyclists across different age categories.
The championship is underway at the Sidhu-Kanhu Velodrome Stadium in Khelgaon, Ranchi.
Athletes displayed exceptional talent, discipline and competitive spirit throughout the day’s events.
Dignitaries Honour Outstanding Cyclists
The second day welcomed three distinguished guests.
They included Naman Priyash Lakra, Director of the Tourism Department, Government of Jharkhand, Shashi Prakash Jha, Director of the National Health Mission, Jharkhand, and Professor Saroj Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of Ranchi University.
All three dignitaries jointly presented medals and prizes to athletes who delivered outstanding performances in various events.
They also encouraged the participants and appreciated their dedication to the sport.
Earlier, Jharkhand Cycling Association General Secretary Shailendra Pathak welcomed the guests.
He presented them with commemorative mementoes as a mark of respect.
Sports Build Discipline and Leadership
The dignitaries praised the athletes and highlighted the importance of sports in youth development.
They noted that sports help young people develop discipline, confidence, dedication and leadership skills.
They also emphasised the importance of national-level competitions in providing opportunities to emerging talent.

The Jharkhand Cycling Association and its organising committee continue to play an important role in conducting the championship smoothly.
Association Treasurer Ranveer Singh, Amlan Kusum Sinha, Ritesh Jha, Chandan Tiwari, Surjeet Kumar and Chandra Bahadur Singh are among those actively contributing to the arrangements.
