Gun Shooting Academy: Ranchi has taken another step towards strengthening its sports infrastructure with the opening of a new branch of Patliputra Gun Shooting Academy.

Member of Parliament Lovely Anand inaugurated the facility by cutting the ribbon.

The academy stands behind Hanuman Temple, Main Road, Ranchi.

This marks the academy’s third branch.

It already operates two centres in Patna, Bihar.

Founder and MLA Chetan Anand said both Patna branches continue to perform well.

Around 40 shooters from the academy compete in national-level tournaments.

Its trainees have also won a bronze medal at the Khelo India Games.

He highlighted another major achievement.

Academy shooter Aarav Singh qualified for the World Championship but could not participate due to unfortunate circumstances.

Chetan Anand said the academy wants to create similar opportunities for young shooters in Ranchi.

It aims to prepare local talent for national and international competitions.

Modern training facilities will play a key role in this initiative.

The new Ranchi centre features two shooting suites and 11 shooting lanes.

According to the academy management, it ranks among the largest privately operated shooting academies in Ranchi.

The institution aims to identify promising shooters and provide them with professional training.

It hopes to help Jharkhand’s emerging shooting talent gain wider recognition.

Several prominent personalities attended the inauguration ceremony.

Former MP Anand Mohan, former Jharkhand minister Dr Ravindra Kumar Rai and former Legislative Council member Praveen Singh were among the guests.

Divakar Singh, president of the Jharkhand Rifle Association, and Vinay Kumar, president of the Ranchi District Rifle Association, also attended the event.

The new facility could strengthen Ranchi’s position as an emerging centre for shooting sports.

It also offers aspiring athletes an opportunity to access structured training closer to home.
