Anant Singh Bihar Assembly Notice: Mokama MLA Anant Singh has received a show-cause notice from the Bihar Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
He must submit his reply within seven days.
The notice concerns allegations of anti-party activities during the Bihar Legislative Council elections.
Singh allegedly opposed JD(U)’s officially nominated candidate, Neeraj Kumar.
JD(U) Bihar president Umesh Kushwaha had lodged a formal complaint against the Mokama MLA.
He also submitted supporting evidence to the authorities.
Following the complaint, Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar directed the Assembly Secretariat to initiate action.
The Secretariat subsequently issued the show-cause notice to Singh.
The controversy centres on Singh’s alleged opposition to Neeraj Kumar during the election process.
The party considers the matter a case of indiscipline and conduct against its official candidate.
However, Anant Singh has maintained that his opposition did not target the JD(U) as a party.
He has said that his disagreement stemmed from personal resentment towards Neeraj Kumar.
The seven-day deadline now gives Singh an opportunity to present his position. His response could determine the next course of action in the matter.
The development has added another political controversy to Bihar’s already active political landscape.
All eyes remain on Singh’s response and the Assembly Speaker’s subsequent decision.
