CPI ML Demands: The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation has demanded the scrapping of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The party also raised concerns over restrictions on peaceful protests and the alleged exploitation of migrant workers from Jharkhand in Gujarat.
CPI(ML) Liberation held a press conference at Mahendra Singh Bhavan, the party’s state office in Ranchi.
National General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya and other senior leaders attended the event.
They discussed the GEN-Z movement, alleged vote theft, peace bonds, worker’s rights, and recruitment-related disputes in Jharkhand.
Dipankar Questions Election Commission’s Accountability
Dipankar Bhattacharya said movements demanding the withdrawal of SIR continue across the country.
He added that allegations of vote theft had intensified demands for Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation.
Bhattacharya called for concrete steps to ensure accountability over the serious allegations against the Chief Election Commissioner.
He also questioned the process of requiring protesters to sign peace bonds with multiple conditions.
According to him, such requirements could restrict citizens constitutional right to peaceful protest.
He cited AISA national president Neha’s refusal to sign a peace bond as an example of resistance to restrictions on democratic rights.
The CPI(ML) leader stressed the importance of protecting democratic freedoms and ensuring that authorities do not impose unreasonable conditions on peaceful demonstrators.
Migrant Workers from Jharkhand Face Alleged Exploitation in Gujarat
Former Bagodar MLA Vinod Singh highlighted the alleged exploitation of migrant workers from Jharkhand, particularly those from Giridih district who travel to Gujarat for employment.
Singh alleged that factories and textile mills require workers to work up to 12 hours instead of the standard eight-hour workday.
He also claimed that employers have withdrawn weekly holidays, forcing workers to work even on Sundays.
He said these practices undermine workers dignity and their right to fair employment.
Singh also criticised the failure to protect workers rights effectively.
The party called for stronger safeguards for migrant labourers and better enforcement of laws governing working hours and weekly rest.
CPI(ML) Urges Jharkhand Government to Strengthen JPSC-JSSC Case
Nirsa MLA Arup Chatterjee highlighted AISA’s role in student movements concerning education and employment in Jharkhand.
He said the All India Students’ Association had played a prominent role in recent protests over recruitment examinations, including those conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).
According to Chatterjee, student protests had pushed the government towards taking appropriate decisions on recruitment-related concerns.
He urged the Jharkhand government to present strong facts and arguments before the courts.
He stressed that the government must defend candidates interests through a clear and evidence-based legal position.
The demand comes amid continuing concerns over recruitment examinations and the future of candidates seeking government jobs in the state.
National Conferences Scheduled for November
Dipankar also announced several upcoming organisational events.
The All India Agricultural and Rural Labour Association will hold its national conference in Sariya, Giridih district, on November 21–22.
AISA will organise its 11th national conference in Nagpur, Maharashtra, from November 28–30.
The party is also preparing for the conference of the Inquilabi Naujawan Sabha and the national convention of CPI(ML) Liberation.
Senior Party Leaders Attend Press Conference
Several senior leaders attended press conference in Ranchi.
They included Dipankar Bhattacharya, CPI(ML) Liberation’s Jharkhand state secretary Manoj Bhakt, former Bagodar MLA Vinod Singh, Nirsa MLA Arup Chatterjee, and Sindri MLA Chandradeo Mahato.
The press conference brought electoral reform, civil liberties, migrant labour rights, and recruitment disputes into focus.
The party called for greater accountability from the Election Commission and stronger protection for workers and job aspirants in Jharkhand.
