Ranchi News: The Ranchi district administration organised a Pension Darbar-cum-Retirement Farewell and Felicitation Ceremony at Collectorate building on Saturday.

Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri chaired the programme and honoured 16 retiring teachers and employees for their contributions.

The district administration has organised this special programme regularly for the past 22 months.

It aims to recognise the valuable contributions of teachers who shape young minds and help build society.

Ranchi Ensures Retirement Benefits on Time

Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri welcomed the retiring employees and congratulated them on completing their professional journeys.

He highlighted Ranchi’s initiative to provide all retirement benefits on the day of retirement.

The administration continues to ensure timely disbursement of these benefits.

All 16 retirees received their retirement benefits during Saturday’s programme.

Bhajantri appreciated the District Education Officer, District Education Superintendent and their teams for maintaining this system.

He described the initiative as unique in Jharkhand.

He also praised the education department for organising the monthly programme consistently.

Retirement Marks the Beginning of a New Chapter

Addressing the retirees, Bhajantri said retirement should not mark the end of an active life.

Instead, it should open a new chapter.

After 30 to 35 years of service, teachers now have more time for themselves, their families and society.

He encouraged them to devote at least one hour every day to their health.

He also urged them to share their knowledge and professional experiences with children and the wider community.

“Do not consider this merely retirement. Treat it as the beginning of a new phase in life,” he said.

DC Raises Concern Over Excessive Mobile Phone Use

Bhajantri also expressed concern over the growing influence of mobile phones on the younger generation.

He observed that excessive screen time can negatively affect young people’s development.

He urged retired teachers to guide youngsters and encourage responsible mobile phone use.

The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to them to support children from disadvantaged and exploited communities through education.

He said their continued contribution could help create an educated, prosperous and progressive society.
